first place awards at state competition and international recognition at Mexico City, Mexico.

Fayette County was among the first school system in Alabama to install fiber optics to facilitate access to the information highway 
to broaden students' knowledge and horizons.

Through the Fayette County Local Education Advancement Foundation, parents, civic leaders and educators continue to upgrade the quality of elementary and secondary education.

Fayette is also the home of Bevill State Community College, an outstanding two-year institution that offers associate degrees in 37 fields of study.  Extensive vocational education and technical training are available at
the three Bevill campuses within the area. 

The community college also offers special incentives and programs for senior citizens and children's summer programs.  Racquetball courts, indoor pool, weight room, cardiovascular room and wellness education are available for individual community members as well as business and industry groups.

Fayette is located within an hour's drive of the University of Alabama,
home of the nationally acclaimed Crimson Tide, and is within
